About Us

Having married my wife, Jessica in 2006, we have made a habit of moving in search of the perfect home. We lived in Cambridge for 2 years, before renovating a Grade 2* listed property in Ely. We have since lived in a 19th century cottage in the small village of Coveney, 3 miles outside Ely, which provides and wonderful rural setting, and from from where I run Ross Trent Cabinet Maker.

I built my own workshop on the land behind our cottage. It is the perfect place to work, and is a great location for customers to come by and see how their designs are being created.

I use locally sourced timber, and always use local businesses when sourcing paint, and other materials.

I provide a full design service, working one-on-one with you, the client. I aim to understand your needs and translate them into a design unique to you, and unique to your home.

Regarding cost - initial consultations are FREE and you are under no obligation. Once you have decided to go ahead with an idea, we will have a FORMAL CONSULTATION. This will be included in the price, however if you decide not to go ahead with the project I will be obliged to charge £50.

Initial Consultation - this may be done over the phone, or at my workshop.

Formal Consultation - 2 hour meeting in the client's home. I will bring photos, paint charts for you to look at. This will be your chance to really develop the ideas you have with me. It will give me a chance to understand the brief and to take measurements of the space.

Design - I will go away and create the best design for the client and provide complete scale drawings of the project.

Approval & Deposit - 1 hour meeting. We will talk through the designs - you will receive your own copy of the drawings to keep. This will give you a chance to see a scale image of your propsed design, and allow us a chance to tweek any of the finer details. Once happy with the design, I ask for an initial deposit as downpayment on materials.

At this stage the design and drawings will be included in the overall budget, however should you decide not to go ahead with the project I will be obliged to charge £100.

Build & 2nd payment - This stage is really where I take over. I source all the materials and set to work. I will always give you a clear time-frame, and expected delivery date. I am a very punctual person, and always meet my deadlines. In turn, should your design be part of a bigger project (ie. house renovation/build) I expect to be kept fully up to date with any delays in progress - as I commit to other projects up to 8 months ahead and will need to deliver within an agreed time frame.

Delivery & Final Payment - I personally deliver all my work - if it is a built-in design I will fit it. Once the project is complete and client satisfied, I will invoice the final payment.

This gives you an honest account of how I work. I aim to give the client clear expectations, which has led to many happily satisfied customers.
